Call Team Tube in Sac if you are gonna buy enough for a whole chassis or upper half. its WAY cheaper than anyone else in Reno. I bought about 140' of 1.75x.120 DOM from them in February and they were less than HALF of Protofab, and they delivered it to me. PDM doesn't deal in tube. Metal Masters has very little supply / stock. I heard Reno Salvage was back selling new?

I quite using poly along time ago. Switched to .060-6061, and then last year went to .090 - 6061 aluminum if you don't have to form it or make sharp bends. I also went to welded 1/4-20 nuts on the backside of tabs and use Allen button head bolts to secure. I say good for 2 seasons.

Bet the .090 helps battle the rattles, I got a couple kinda tight bends to form. Looks like some .060, Im scared what its gonna cost a sheet....

I think a 4'x7' .090 that makes my two sides from ProtoFab was around $150 and they are expensive.

Its gettin there..... I forgot how horrible I am at bending tube and having the patience to dial it all in square. Its been 5 plus years since I've tried tackling something like this. Shits hella hard...
Just noticed in the last pic the spreader in the X of the halo isnt straight (along with plenty others Im sure!), think I already burned it in too. And I narrowed the hood/cowl 5" after I took these pics, looks somewhat better. Not sure if Im sold on the Sami hood yet.

That bend in the "B" pillar (right where your hand is in the pic) you are going to HATE that thing. Ask me and Rockape how we know? His yellow buggy and the Pimpin' chassis are like that. And I did mine that way. It is the most abused piece of tube in my whole buggy. With the tight canyons we do, over hangin ledges, etc. it HANGS on everything. I think its what was holding me back the most when I broke my tcase last time at MR.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, sorry.

I was thinking the same thing, my old toyota powered buggy had the same B pillar and I hated it......

Yeah, I've been on the fence with just cuttin that 90* out down to the door spreader and replacing it with a straight piece of tube.

Instead of a B pillar hoop, an A to C tube smoothes them right out...and you dont really lose any useable space....

That's probably the easiest fix. But I gotta say, youre rear shock angle is a little shallow. You're gonna have some serious body roll.

That hurts! Hey, I did look at it the other day. my steering pump seems to be the issue. Only getting 250psi on the inline gauge. Odd thing is, I sent it back in working condition prior to JV for a freshing up after YEARS of good service and this is what happened.

I think it came out sweet, I love the stance and 2700 lbs is great, yota parts will probably live for a while! Decided not to change B-pillar bar?

Yeah, I have some straights cut and notched to replace those two 90* bends. Just kinda put that on the back burner for now, I'll get around to it.

Good modification! Throw a spare tire in that back hole and you're ready for KOH! You might even finish unlike others in this town.
