The rig actually worked really well down at KOH, it was the only one still running at the end of the week, and the new shocks and tuning really changed the way I can drive this. Other than cracking another alum gas tank

The new tires worked well, very sticky for DOT

I still have a few things that need attention

lower vehicle and add rear sway bar, very tippy with the new Kings, and I can drop it about 1-2 inches

simplify dash and make easier to reach with belts on

decrease excessive headroom and lower cage to fit in toy hauler and give it better lines

clean up wiring again, improve stereo, satellite radio, new speakers, use weather tight wring connectors

decrease amount of gauges, LED lighting

remove last bit of B2 firewall

increase cage/chassis strength, all 1.75 chromo, replace tank with fuel cell

add rear sway bar

Sorry there big guy.... Didnt mean to hurt your feelers. On the upside youll never have to worry about me joining the dacus xtreme golf cart club.

On a serious note... Why just use the roll bender on the door bars?

I laid out bunch of different patterns using tape, and looked at a bunch of other rigs, and decided I liked this look best. my original design was almost all rolled tube, but it looked like a bouncer

if I was to start a new rig, there would be a lot of rolled, its difficult to incorporate old lines and new. I was going to start a new rig this fall, and already have the BD 6.0 for it, but since I bought the extremely expensive golf cart, I am not building a new rig anytime soon, so I will either put the 6.0/4l60 in my rig next winter or I have even thought of getting out all together, I spend way to much time fabricating/wheeling and not enough time with kids. that is the big reason for buying the rzr which has been a great family toy

Looks good Shawn.

For me NOTHING can replace a true crawler / buggy for the rocks and I see myself staying in the sport, maybe just not as intense. The RZR HAS filled the need for family time for sure. Its nice to have the wife ask, "so when are we going out again?" with enthusiasm.

Also, the RZR's sure aren't any cheaper that's for sure - but you don't feel as bad spending money on it when its for everyone.

Rig looks sweet....I see a possible legends class contender.
rzrs sure seem less expensive to maintain to me, but then again i'm pretty new to them.
definitely doesn't replace the crawler or go the same places, but it makes the con and other easier trails more challenging. Plus I can carry 4people and a ton of gear, run all weekend on less than 7 gallons of gas. We plan on hitting dusy ersheim and some other adventure trails this summer with the families.

I cut a piece of cardboard one time to the contour (profile) and then took the piece of aluminum to a shop and had them break it to match the shape of the aluminum.

A full redesign?.... Might be a good idea to Take out that super mega hi 9 and all the anti-squat that causes it to break on the rubicon?

Maybe graft a bronco II body onto it?

naa no big changes, made the rear full float(sealing problems), switched to 8 lug, 3 link to 4 link, just drained the h2o from the tires tonight, love to keep it but too cold here. Got my new lq9 engine from Bryan all ready with a new fat cam, built TH 400, just cant afford that new Atlas 3.8. Hoping to sell my whole drive train (5.0,C4,Atlas) which has actually been working great lately, and use that to pay for new atlas. Not tearing into mine, until i have everything for the new setup, 1 month to 3 years, somewhere in there. gonna keep wheeling it as is.

got a few projects ill start posting, Frame off 1970 k5 project, high dollar project for customer and, Im starting a 68 mustang fastback project, be nice to have vehicles that are actually worth something after pouring $ into it. Going to the dark side, everything is getting modern GM drivetrains

Happy Thanksgiving

..... Except the mustang...right? Putting an Ls in that seems like you'll cut the value. I have a 69 camaro that I cant bring myself to do that to, and its a popular swap!

I may have some k5 stuff if ya need it... Had I known I would have offered you the original rear seat I sold last night!

its true, it will cut the value, but its just a "C" code car, which means it was nothing special in the day, and I am starting with a shell. the cost to build a decent stroker ford is bank, and new coyote motor is about the same as 3 LS3s. I figured if I got an LS based motor, I could always swap it out for the ford motor years from now, who knows, its all just ideas for now. K5 is getting the knife first. mall crawler, 1 tons, LQ9, 4l60, 205, modern seats, already purchased. The guy has $, I have suggested just taking the body to a respectable shop to do the rust/metal work after we media blast everything. Ill try to get some pics up

Why is it you can put an LS in ANYTHING but a Ford? I have sold several motors for old Bronco projects and F100 trucks. I think those guys got their house egg'd also!

From one of the best about the BEST - LS / VORTEC!

Im not saying it isnt a good swap.... Look at all the 32 fords with sbc's in them... Its really that swap started the explosion of hotrodding.... Cheap, easy and good power(for the late 50s).

Muscle cars in my opinion should at least keep their brand under the hood... Putting another brand is like admitting chevy is better than ford!

There is a 70 mustang locally that has a bbc in it... Tubbed ,nice paint overall a badass car, the owner will tell ya he did it to piss people off... AND.... They make cheap good power.

Im not trying to talk ya out of it... Its your car. Build it how you like!

And bryan... We know everything needs an Ls... Because you sell them...
